We are very pleased to announce we have completed casting for our next short Raymond Taylor’s Earnest Adventure in Love. With our lead role of Raymond to be played by Benedict Kazlauskas. Benedict has an extensive background in theatre and dance, having performed with the Australian Shakespeare Theatre Company in Lady Chatterley’s Lover, Macbeth, Wind in the Willows and The Jungle Book. He has danced professionally in Vienna with the Wiener Staatsoper Ballet; toured Asia and Australia with The Phantom of the Opera; and performed throughout Europe in musical theatre. And, just between you and me, we think he’s going to do a bloody fine job of portraying the earnest and rather particular Raymond Taylor.
Raymond’s love interest, Rosie, will feature the multi-talented Sally McLean. An actress, screenwriter, director and playwright, Sally has extensive experience in Australian and British film, theatre and television productions. A graduate of The Actors Institute, London, she has played lead, guest and support roles on numerous UK and Australian television series including Elephant Princess, Flying Doctors, Bingles, The D-Generation, Totally Full Frontal, Neighbours, Acropolis Now!, Comedy Inc., Blue Heelers and the BBC mini-series Bootleg. A very talented lady, who will deliver a delightful and delicious Rosie to the screen.
Raymond’s quirky work mate, Olivia, will be played by the accomplished Sarah Hallam. Sarah has worked extensively as an actor, teacher, and casting director, and recently moved into directing with her debut at 45 downstairs, Men by Brendan Cowell. Sarah’s television and film credits include: Neighbours, Spartacus, Straight For The Try Line, Rush, Blind Company, City Homicide, Canal Road, Blue Heelers, Mortified, Lost Treasure of Fiji, Pirate Islands, 48 Shades of Brown, Scooter Secret Agent, Ocean Girl, Stingers and Shotgun. Extremely capable as an actor, Sarah brings her own left of centre humour to personify the irreverent Olivia.
